How do I remove the Google Toolbar from Firefox on the Acer Aspire One?

Hi,
I have just got my Acer Aspire One back from repair. Now when I open Firefox I see that the google toolbar has been preinstalled. I go into the addons section, disabled the toolbar and then click uninstall. It then tells me I have to restart firefox before it will be removed completely.
Now what puzzles me is even when I do that. The toolbar seems to keep reinstalling itself. Everytime I do the above and restart it tells me. " Thanks for installing the google toolbar you have been updated to the latest version.
This is wrong to the fact that I have attempted to delete it not install it!!!

Your Acer Aspire comes with the version Firefox that has Google Toolbar by default... if you want to uninstall it completely... just download a normal version by clicking this link http://www.spreadfirefox.com/node&id=243994&t=306

or you can also just deactivate the toolbar by clicking View >> Toolbars and unticking Google Toolbar.
